One excellent and sure way to slowly discover the Algarve and its people, landscapes, historical sites, castles and golden sandy beaches, is by bicycle (biking). Cycling is gaining popularity along with many other tourist activities in Portugal. Mountain bicycles are recommended since there are practically no dedicated paths for this activity.

In Lagos, the closest city to Praia da Luz, you can find some bicycle and/or motor-bike rental shops.
